DJ Yves Thibord
Started as a rai DJ, after 2 years of work in a rai studio in Tlemcen (Algeria), he was involved in the trendy "Ya Rai" nights at the Sherazade, Paris.
Experimenting with the loop on the CD desks, and opening to the emerging worldbeat sounds: Indian bollywood remixes, Egyptian Jeel, Afro-beat, Tuva deep-throat, pygmies lulabies, adding electronics background ... A new "cuisine". And because in the year 1995 Yves begins the Cosmopop chronicles on France-Inter & Radio Nova, it was easy to call this multi-desks, multiculti, multi-beats style: Cosmomix.
